Learn about the latest marine science and oceanographic research at the 2018 Ocean Literacy Summit, hosted by the University of Massachusetts Boston and Northeastern University Marine Science Center on November 15 & 16, 2018. Join the New England Ocean Science Education Collaborative and attend a workshop or field trip, attend speaker sessions, explore at the science and education fair, network at the Science Cafe, enjoy the ocean themed art show or have fun while trying to win prizes at the Trivia Hour.
Workshops: Ocean Literacy 101: How the Concept of What Everyone Should Know About the Ocean Changed the World, Advancing Ocean Literacy with Citizen Science, Ocean Exploration and Technology Resources to Advance Ocean Literacy, and Creativity and Science: Promoting & Communicating Ocean Literacy. Field trip opportunities are available, though space is limited: Northeastern University Marine Science Center, New England Aquarium, Courageous Sailing and USS Constitution and Waterworks Museum. School Districts can apply for up to $100 reimbursement if there is a need to get a substitute teacher, but apply quickly as there is a limit for the first 15 school districts.
