Learn about the latest marine science and oceanographic research at the 2018 Ocean Literacy Summit, hosted by the University of Massachusetts Boston and Northeastern University Marine Science Center on November 15 & 16, 2018. Join the New England Ocean Science Education Collaborative and attend a workshop or field trip, attend speaker sessions, explore at the science and education fair, network at the Science Cafe, enjoy the ocean themed art show or have fun while trying to win prizes at the Trivia Hour.
Workshops: Ocean Literacy 101: How the Concept of What Everyone Should Know About the Ocean Changed the World, Advancing Ocean Literacy with Citizen Science, Ocean Exploration and Technology Resources to Advance Ocean Literacy, and Creativity and Science: Promoting & Communicating Ocean Literacy. Field trip opportunities are available, though space is limited: Northeastern University Marine Science Center, New England Aquarium, Courageous Sailing and USS Constitution and Waterworks Museum. School Districts can apply for up to $100 reimbursement if there is a need to get a substitute teacher, but apply quickly as there is a limit for the first 15 school districts. Northeastern University has opened registration to their fall Waterfall program for High School Students. They invite students on campus for this two day event to attended FREE classes taught by Northeastern University students. Join the Science Squad and participate in interactive experiments, design and engineer a contraption for a Reverse Egg Drop, ponder the Philosophy of the Good Life, and learn How (not) to Die in a Chemistry Lab.

Registration opened today, Oct 7, for Yale Splash. This is a program for students run by Yale students where kids can take classes on any and everything. Open to students in 7th - 12th grade with a huge array of classes.

MIT Lincoln Laboratory once again is hosting their Science on Saturday events. They offer programs several times throughout the school year for students ages five through seventeen. This fall's first session is Robot-Driven Race Cars where they explore how driverless cars navigate through streets and avoid other vehicles and pedestrians. There will be hands-on activities to demonstrate how robots use sensors and algorithms to see, steer, and race.
